The motorcycle has been packed up and picked up.

Just 8 days and a few hours to go.

Before packing it up, I stuck the route plan onto the fuel tank. Frank leveraged his connections once again and had the tank decal made by Frank Meier (www.meier-werbung.de). Top-notch work.

On Saturday and Monday, the motorcycle

was secured inside its shipping crate.

Before that, I packed the top case with the essentials:

a change of clothes for five days, Nutrilite vitamins for 55 days,

shampoo, and shower gel.

The bike was picked up today at 2:20 PM.

Almost everything packed for the Route 66 trip.

Just 18 days and some hours to go.

Spruced up the bike with a few details today.

Detail number one: I attached a "Biker Bell" to the front left side of the crash bar. Its gentle chiming scares away the "Evil Road Gremlins" that try to spoil the ride.

Detail number two: I hung my special "MZ Authorized Workshop" tour mug on the rear left.

Detail number three: Since the MZ RT 125/3 isn't exactly the fastest motorcycle around, I mounted an LED scrolling message display between the side cases.

It scrolls: "Sorry. I don't have the power of 1.21 gigawatts. – Dr. Emmett Brown (BttF)"

Just to appease the drivers behind me.
